For a better tomorrow! Strength training for life

Why should I start strength training..?

Maximising longevity

Hi, I'm Katie, and my mission is simple.

To help women build strength: for health, longevity, independence and confidence.

Your muscle mass starts to decline year-on-year after the age of 30. However, it's your GREATEST DEFENCE against disease, frailty and premature death from any cause. It can prolong your life.

You therefore need to build it, use it and protect it, and that's achieved through structured and progressive training. So, if you've heard about resistance training and you're not sure where to start, or you've started but need tailored advice, then you're in the right place.

Reframing "normal"...

Women should be lifting heavy weights!

For most women, particularly over the age of 40, strength training has never been on our agenda. It was never part of our education, it wasn't talked about in gym inductions (straight to the cardio machines), and where were our role models? Thankfully, those days have gone!

Forget skinny and forget toning (it doesn't exist). Let's talk muscular strength. It's critical to your health from perimenopause onwards, and it's time to embrace what your body is capable of.

Ladies, let's normalise building & using our muscles.

Programming tailored to your needs...

Progression, variety & fun

Your programme starts at your current level of ability. It will always be safe, tailored, and progressive. I'll assess your goals, and provide clear structure for measurable improvement.

For example, you might be looking to:

  • Overcome existing injuries or chronic aches and pains
  • Make general day-to-day life easier e.g. keeping up with the children / grandchildren
  • Build strength for other hobbies or activities that you already participate in or would like to start
  • Build confidence and knowledge
  • Train for a specific event
